CryptoToGo is a mobile app designed to deliver curated podcasts and articles about cryptocurrency in a format that feels engaging, modern, and easy to navigate. Inspired by familiar streaming platforms, the app combines categorized news, personalized highlights, and podcast playback into one seamless experience. As the UX/UI Designer, I created the complete UX wireframe system from scratch, ensuring that users could quickly discover, consume, and organize large volumes of content without feeling overwhelmed.
Overview
The app targets crypto enthusiasts who want to stay informed on the go. Unlike traditional news feeds, CryptoToGo offers a streamlined, mobile-first content experience with a focus on usability, personalization, and continuous engagement. My role was to structure the app so that podcasts, articles, and recommendations coexist in a cohesive design system that supports both casual browsing and deep dives into crypto trends.
Goal
The design goals for CryptoToGo included:
Deliver an engaging, modern interface tailored for mobile use
Simplify access to dense and fast-changing crypto content
Balance news and podcasts in a single ecosystem
Reduce friction for new users by borrowing familiar patterns from apps like Spotify
Provide tools for personalization, bookmarking, and search
Problem
The crypto space is known for complex, high-volume information that often intimidates or overwhelms users. Existing news platforms lacked a unified, mobile-friendly solution where enthusiasts could both read and listen to curated insights. The challenge was to design an app that feels as intuitive and engaging as music or streaming apps, while maintaining clarity, structure, and depth of content.
Process
Research & Problem Definition
We explored how users currently engage with crypto news and podcasts, identifying that most bounced between multiple apps or relied on cluttered feeds. This confirmed the need for a centralized, intuitive hub.
Competitive Analysis
By analyzing platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Flipboard, I identified key UX strengths such as persistent players, personalized feeds, and intuitive categorization. These became foundational to CryptoToGo’s design strategy.
Design Approach
The wireframes were structured to support discovery, consumption, and personalization.
Home screen organized into highlights, trending topics, and recommendations
Articles section with clean typography and category filters for readability
Podcasts section with a minimal, persistent player for uninterrupted listening
Search functionality supporting keywords, categories, and topics
Bookmarks for saving content across both articles and podcasts
Profile hub providing quick access to saved content, listening history, and user preferences
Familiar navigation patterns inspired by streaming apps, reducing the learning curve
Reflection
CryptoToGo successfully translates dense, technical content into an approachable mobile experience, making it easier for crypto enthusiasts to stay informed anytime, anywhere. The use of familiar patterns from entertainment platforms allowed users to engage naturally while still accessing complex information. For me, the project highlighted the importance of structural clarity and user empathy in designing for content-heavy domains, ensuring that information remains both rich and digestible.
With CryptoToGo, it feels like the entire world of crypto is right in my pocket, ready whenever I am.
