Solution
Opindx is a patient-focused web application that helps people discover treatments, medical technologies, and nearby specialists. The platform combines an interactive orthopedics search, in-depth medical content, a doctor locator, and appointment booking/approval into a single, easy-to-use experience. I designed the product from scratch (desktop → tablet → mobile), creating a clean, modern UI that uses subtle motion, glass effects, and 3D anatomy models to make medical exploration intuitive and reassuring.
Overview
Opindx guides users through a clear path: identify symptoms or body area, explore treatment options and evidence, find qualified doctors, and arrange care. As the UX/UI Designer I led the end-to-end visual and interaction design, building a consistent design system and responsive layouts that prioritize clarity, trust, and accessibility across devices.
Goal
Project goals:
Make complex medical information easy to explore and understand.
Provide a trustworthy, modern interface that reduces anxiety when searching for treatments.
Connect patients quickly to relevant specialists and streamline appointment workflows.
Deliver an experience that works seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Problem
Medical discovery tools are often cluttered, text-heavy, and visually dated, which makes it hard for patients to find clear guidance. Users faced friction at multiple points: identifying the right condition, trusting content, locating specialists, and handling appointment logistics. The design challenge was to present authoritative medical content while keeping the experience calm, navigable, and approachable.
Process
Research & Problem Definition
We reviewed existing health search tools, medtech apps, and patient journeys to map pain points. Research showed users wanted reliable explanations, visual cues (anatomy), and straightforward next steps — not long clinical walls of text.
Competitive Analysis
We benchmarked healthcare information sites and doctor directories to learn how others build credibility and manage content density. The gaps we found: poor visual hierarchy, weak onboarding, and fragmented appointment flows.
Design Approach
Built from the ground up, the interface balances clinical clarity with modern visual language:
Light, clinically clean UI with soft gradients and glass effects to feel professional and calm.
Smooth animated backgrounds and subtle motion to reduce cognitive load and add polish.
3D anatomy models for intuitive, visual condition selection and exploration.
Bright contrast accents and clear CTAs to guide action (find doctor / book appointment).
Modular responsive layouts to ensure consistent behavior on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Content-first pages: concise medical summaries, expandable details, and clear references to boost trust.
Key features implemented
Orthopedics treatment search with interactive body map and condition tagging
Rich medical content hub with readable summaries and deeper resources
Doctor locator with map integration, profiles, and filters
Appointment request & approval flow integrated into profiles and search results
Reflection
Opindx transforms the often-frustrating process of medical discovery into a calm, guided, and trustworthy digital experience. By combining clear information architecture, visual anatomy exploration, and seamless appointment flows, the platform empowers patients to understand options and take action confidently. Designing Opindx was an exercise in balancing clinical accuracy with humane, modern design — creating a healthcare tool that feels both authoritative and approachable.
